How do I purchase a vehicle using LMAEI services?
You may begin by clicking on our “International Car Locator” tab and filling out an e-international car locator form if you know exactly what type of vehicle you would like us to attempt to acquire for you. We will then contact you in order to confirm, verify and answer any question that you may have regarding your request and the next steps in the purchasing process. What if I am not sure about the type of vehicle that I would like purchase?
If you are not exactly sure about what type of vehicle you are looking for please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have regarding any characteristics that you may be searching for in your next dream car. You may also research our websites “Car Selection” page in order to help you decide on the type of vehicle that you may be interested in purchasing. When you have decided on the desired vehicle you may then visit our websites “International Car Locator” page and fill out an e-car locator form or contact us directly by Email, phone or fax with ANY purchasing questions that you may have. We will then contact you (if needed) in order to confirm, verify and answer any questions that you may have regarding your request and the next steps in the purchasing process.

What is LMAEI Initial Response Time?

Is LMAEI a Vehicle Dealer?
Please understand that we are not a vehicle dealer, our services only handle the following for you, locating the vehicle, purchasing the vehicle on your behalf, all related paper work and shipping services.
Can LMAEI Import most European vehicles?
Yes, we are able to import most European vehicles but due to government regulations there are a few vehicles that cannot be imported into the USA. Please contact LMAEI for help in identifying whether or not a particular vehicle can be imported. It would be our pleasure to render any assistance.
Can LMAEI Export any American vehicle?
We can export most commercial vehicles that are manufactured in the U.S. to most parts of the world. Please contact us by Email, phone or fax with ANY purchasing questions that you may have.
How long will it take to export my vehicle?
Le Mans Auto Exports & Imports understands our client’s urgency to receive their car, but we ask our clients to please understand that the total process may take 1-2 months for exports.
• Shipping will take around 6 weeks. Exact schedule will be given to our customers once all necessary paperwork and arrangements have been completed.
• Export Customers - U.S. manufactured vehicles meet and surpass most countries car emission regulations but we still advise you to contact and fully understand your countries specific vehicle safety and emission standard’s.
Are these vehicles covered under warranty (U.S. only)?
Upon customer request and approval LMAEI can arrange to purchase for you a 6-month warranty on all qualifying vehicles in which the factory warranties have expired or are negligible. LMAEI will also provide information regarding extended warranty plans upon request by the client (U.S.-ONLY). Please contact LMAEI to verify whether or not your vehicle is eligible for warranty coverage.
How much will it cost to purchase a vehicle from Europe?
Each purchase is unique therefore we have no way to correctly quote a price until we have gathered all required information and paperwork concerning a probable purchase. Please contact us by Email, phone or fax with ANY purchasing questions that you may have.
How much will it cost to import a vehicle into my home country?
Each purchase is unique therefore we have no way to correctly quote a price until we have gathered all required information and paperwork concerning a probable purchase. Please contact us by Email, phone or fax with ANY purchasing questions that you may have.
How much will it cost to convert a vehicle to meet U.S. State & Federal regulations?
Each purchase is unique therefore we have no way to correctly quote a price until we have gathered all required information and paperwork concerning a probable purchase. Please contact us by Email, phone or fax with ANY purchasing questions that you may have.
How long will it take to import my vehicle into the U.S.?
Le Mans Auto Exports & Imports understands our client’s urgency to receive their car, but we ask our clients to please understand that the total shipping and conversion process may take up to 6 to 7 months or longer for all imports into the U.S.
How long will it take to convert my vehicle (U.S. only)?
Each vehicle is unique therefore we have no way to correctly estimate the total conversion time until we have gathered all required information and paperwork concerning your particular vehicle. Please contact us by Email, phone or fax with ANY questions regarding your vehicles conversion.
Where will my vehicle be stored during conversion (U.S. only)?
During conversion the vehicle will remain onsite with the contracted Independent Commercial Importer (ICI) or Registered Importer (RI) until the required work is completed.
Should vehicles be fluid free (no gas, motor oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid…) when shipped internationally?
The short answer is no. However, vehicles being shipped internationally should only have ¼ or a quarter tank of gas. Vehicles containing more than a quarter tank of gas will be emptied.
Will the car battery be disconnected?
Yes, the car battery will be disconnected once the vehicle is loaded into the container.
Where can I service my vehicle?
It would be our pleasure to help our clients locate a high quality vehicle service provider. To assist our clientele we have included a list of highly qualified service facilities where you may take your vehicle to be serviced. Can LMAEI arrange for the shipment of my vehicle directly to my place of residence?
Yes, once your vehicle arrives we may be able to arrange for your car to be delivered anywhere in your home country. Please inform Le Mans Auto Exports & Imports as early as possible if you require domestic transport for your car so that we can make the proper arrangements for you.
Should I purchase marine insurance?
It is strongly recommended that you purchase an insurance policy that covers your vehicle and shipping charges. There are two types of policies: "Full Coverage" and "Total Loss."
• Full Coverage - Replaces the cost of the car, dents, scratches and shipping costs.
• Total Loss - While less expensive, it replaces only the value of the car.
The client may purchase marine insurance independently or request LMAEI to include the cost for either "Full Coverage" or "Total Loss” into their initial quote.
Can I purchase a vehicle if I do not reside in the U.S.?
